About this record

A small, independent record of a draft standard, built so a mobile team can see what is coming and prepare for it without buying a document that is not final.

Who made it

The Art of Service Pty Ltd, founded by Gerard Blokdyk, builds practical compliance and standards tools. This product is written and maintained by Gerard Blokdyk. The contact address is support@theartofservice.com. There is no affiliation with ISO, IEC, IEEE or any national standards body, and no claim to speak for them.

Why it exists

ISO/IEC/IEEE 26517 is the first standard in the 2651x family written specifically for user assistance in mobile applications. It is at stage 40.60 and its requirement text is not public. A team that waits for publication loses the planning window. A team that acts on a summary from memory risks building to a requirement that was never written. This site takes the narrow path between those two: it publishes what the public record proves, names what it does not, and turns the public structure into preparation a team can start now.

How the record is built

  1. Read the ISO record and the free ISO preview: cover, contents, foreword, introduction, scope, normative reference, terms and bibliography.
  2. Write one page per clause and annex, with the public basis stated on the page and the source linked.
  3. Paraphrase every requirement in our own words. Keep only titles, defined terms and data element names exact.
  4. Put the same limit on every page: where the preview is silent, the page says so and offers preparation, not an invented requirement.
  5. Re-read the record with a script and diff it against the data file. A change is a release, not a silent edit.

What this is not

It is not legal advice and it does not certify. It is not a substitute for the published standard, and it does not reproduce the licensed text. It is not an official interpretation, and it does not predict what ISO will publish.

Corrections

If a line is wrong, email support with the clause and the source. A correction that changes a page is dated in the changelog, and the page is rebuilt. The record is meant to be checkable, so a correction is welcome.
